Homemade Make Up Remover - Kukui Nut Cleansing Oil

Homemade Make Up Remover - Kukui Nut Cleansing Oil

All commercial Cleansing Oils are Oils (mineral or\and natural) combined with Emulsifier to clean the skin of dirt and impurities. The best for me was the green one from Shu Uemura, but very expensive too. I decided to try something different, less expensive and natural...
Most of us have heard of one natural cleansing method called The Oil Cleansing Method or "OCM" (using the combination of Extra Virgin Olive (EVOO) and Castor (CO) Oils as a Cleanser). I've tried it, unfortunately it... broke me out. So I've decided to add to my Cleansing Oil an Emulsifying Element to dissolve the oil when used with water.
I am so excited, because it works as good as those like Shu Uemura and does not break me out! It removes easily makeup and impurities. On contact with water, this cleansing oil transforms into creamy milk.

You can make your own Cleansing Oil suited for your skin type by adding Essential Oils for oily, dry or sensitive skin.

It's also a great way to save money instead of using expensive make up removers.

Recipe of Kukui Nut Cleansing Oil - 30 ml (no water phase):
This Cleansing Oil is made with Kukui Nut Oil - 20 ml, Green tea Macerate in Olive Oil - 5 ml, Rosehip Oil - 3 ml, Polysorbate 20 - 2 ml and Carrot Seed EO - 2 drops.

Mix up a blend of Kukui Nut Oil, Green Tea Macerate in Olive oil, Rosehip Oil (you can use any other light weight natural vegetable oil). Add an Emulsifier (I'm using Polysorbate 20), you'll need about 7-10% of the amount of the Oils. Put 2 drops of Carrot Seed EO. You can chose any other 100% pure EO, but if you are pregnant (Mazal Tov!) you should avoid using essential oils, be careful.

How to use:
Gently spread a small amount of the Oil thoroughly over dry face and neck. Massage a few minutes rubbing the Cleanser into your face until the Oil will penetrate into the skin and pull out makeup, dead cells and other dirt. Add a few drops of warm water to face to emulsify - oil will turn milky white. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

PS. Kukui Nut Cleansing Oil will keep for about one month, so I usually have to do about 1 oz once for 4-5 weeks. I think it's more than enough even if you use it twice a day... I love this recipe. I've made it many times and it always comes out perfect.
