Homemade Rosemary-Chamomile Facial Moisturizer

This light moisturizing cream is wonderful for my sensitive skin.
Aloe Gel, Hawthorn's Flowers and Green Tea Macerates nourish and regenerate the skin. My Rosemary Extract and Vitamin E provide added antioxidant effect.  In addition, Chamomile Macerated in Olive Oil moisturizes, softens, soothes and protects the skin (The Best! Love it).

Oil Phase:
Chamomile Macerated in Olive Oil (the best !! anti-inflammatory) 5ml
Green tea Macerated in Olive Oil + Wheat Germ Oil (regenerating) 2,5ml
Hawthorn Fl. Macerated in Olive Oil (regenerating) 1,5ml
Polawax (emulsifier) 1.5gram

Water Phase:
Rosemary Hydrolate (anti-oxidant) 80ml
Aloe Gel (moisturizing) 5ml
Rosemary Alc. Ext. (anti-oxidant) 1ml
Cellulose Gum Powder (gel agent) 3ml

Grapefruit Seed Extract (antioxidant)
Preservative of your choice

Instruction: Mix Chamomile, Green tea, Hawthorn Fl. Infusion Oils and Polawax. Put in a small double boiler for 3 to 5 minutes, heat all the ingredients until the Polawax melts. Mix in another pot Aloe Gel, Rosemary Hydrolate, Rosemary Alc. Ext. and Cellulose, shake it well. Add Water Phase to the Oils pouring slowly, allow the mixture to cool stirring all the time. Continue stirring until the Cream has cooled to 25°C then thoroughly add active ingredients and preservative.

I didn't add any EO this time, because of Chamomile Infusion Oil my Cream smells like fresh Chamomile Flowers, I like it.

P.S. This is one of my oldest recipes, I don't use lotion based moisturizers anymore. Nowadays I like Hydrating Gel based Serum with a bit of Oil Based Serum. (Dec, 2012)
